'LA NAU' MUNICIPAL THEATRE-AUDITORIUM - DENIA (ALICANTE)
LOCATION: DENIA (ALICANTE)
The commission arose from a tender process called by M.I. Ajuntament of Dènia through an open competition, as a result the contract was awarded to a Temporary Business Associations FORTEZA-PASTOR-GRUPOTEC UTE
On the basis of the existing Basic Project, the Execution Project was drafted and finally wasn´t built.
PHASE OF PROJECT
The aim of the Modified Project of Basic and Execution is the suitability of the projects according to the needs numbered below:
1. Reduce the capacity of the main room, from 1.200 to 750 spectators.
2. Design a second room, auditorium B, with 250 spectators.
3. Maintain the external image of the building respecting, as faithfully as possible, the proposal of the Basic Project, the ideas and the intentions too, manteining the geometry and the initial design of the project.
All these work results in an ambitious project which includes the creation of all these spaces mentioned above in a superstructure of adjacent volumes to the main building, in which locate the different uses and services.

The room is located in level +0'00m, with three storeys and the stage separated from the listening area.
It has a distribution with trapezoidal shape and an anphitheatre, a capacity of 425 spectators in the stalls and 318 spectators in the anphitheatre. The distribution of the stalls and the amphitheatre is made with areas like terraces in order to facilitate the lateral reflections and the sensation of the space during the musical audition.
It has a volume around 7.150 m3 considering the acoustic shell and 6.400 m3 for theatre configuration, as a result we have a relation volume-spectator between 9,6 and 8,6 m3/spectator.
