LOCATION: VINALESA (VALENCIA)
The aim of the works is the interior acoustic conditioning in order to get a musical use of the room in which, currently, the reverberation time is unreasonably high and it makes impossible the use of the room even as an exhibition space.
BRIEF HISTORICAL DESCRIPTION
The Vinalesa silk factory was founded at the end of 18th century by Lapayesse family. This made the factory was the first valencian manufacturing centre that used the driving force of water, in this case of the Real Acequia of Moncada.
At its origins, it was home to National Silk Factory and over time, it was factory of esparto, jute and guano material.
Currently, it is no longer used as a factory and after a rehabilitation it is the municipal social centre. It houses fifferent municipal services as the city council, the library, health centre, local associations, gym, retirement home, etc.
PREVIOUS STATE AND AIMS
From 2005 to 2011, the city council of Vinalesa finished the rehabilitation of "Nueva Nave de Fiestas"
The aim of the works is to increase the current use of the room as an exhibition room till use of the space as a rehearsal room for 50-70 musicians and, later, in a second phase, as a hearing room with stage, acoustic shell and a capacity of 250 spectators.
ACOUSTIC STUDY AND PROJECT
In order to decrease the current reverberation time, very high, and to get the proper use of the space for general activities and particularly, for rehearsal room, the following actions will be made:
- Absorbent surfaces will be increased in laterals and ceiling without modifying the inside structural configuration.
- Curtains with tracks will be installed and they will allow us to configurate and delimit the large open-plan space for uses with smaller spaces required.
Always with reversible actions, in other words, if it is required to get back the initial state, we can move away all the elements installed without damage to the pre-existences.
